First Real Virus for MAC users

The first real virus for MAC users has been identified. The virus (really identified as a worm) targets Apple’s Mac OS X operating system. Reports indicate the virus was spotted in a file which is supposed to be screenshots of the Leopard Mac OS X 10.5 and displays the file as a .jpg file — however the file titled “latestpics.tgz” is really an executable file and contains the virus.

If you do digital scrapbooking using a Mac — now is probably the time to get some anti-virus software installed on your system, or make sure you have your files backed up.
